Jorge Garcia is a filmmaker based in Tampa, Florida. He recently graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in digital film & television production. As a storyteller, he is inspired by the resilience and creativity of the LGBTQ+ and Latinx communities. Being a queer and Latino filmmaker himself, Jorge strives to amplify the underrepresented voices of people within those communities. Jorge’s greatest achievement so far has been being able to write and direct his first queer short film, Lavender. In the future, Jorge wishes to continue creating stories with historical, political, and social impact and significance while also prioritizing representation of overlooked minority groups.
